Daegu Art Museum - Masterpieces from Joseon Paintings (간송특별전)
Getting far away from city center, Deagu Art Museum (DAM) has a beautiful landscape, quiet and peaceful environment that make you feel relax and leave all the noise, stress behind.
In the first floor, we can see the exhibition ‘’Masterpieces from Joseon Paintings (간송특별전)’’, which shows a vision of art in Joseon era, modern techniques, cinema and some special effects were used to describe this artworks more attractively. Art lovers have been looking forward to the exhibition because it is a rare chance to meet one of the most famous Korean paintings of all time, Portrait of Beauty(미인도) by legendary Sin Yun-bok. If you are curious what all the fuss is about, you should come and check for yourself.
You can also buy some souvenir such as mini note book, ruler, mouse pad, etc which printed the masterpieces. The price is vary from 3000 won to 12,000won depend on product.
The second floor are displayed all the best artworks of Kim Whanki and Park Chung Ki.
In the gallery of Kim Whanki, who belong to the first generation of Korean abstract artists, all the artworks were divided as three period of his life: Tokyo and Seoul period, Paris and Seoul period, and New York period. The visitors are not allowed to take a photo in both galleries so you should watch carefully and keep all the nice images and feelings in mind.
There are a beautiful view lounge and art information center in the third floor, you can take a rest, have a cup of tea or coffee and read some art books or magazine. The huge glass windows allow you to enjoy the sightseeing outside, perfect for chatting with your friends and have a short break after visiting the exhibitions.
