When we search a name of building or simply copy and paste address found on the Internet, we are good to go! 1. Name of Road

Roads and streets are classified in 3 different names in address: -daero, -ro, -gil. “-daero” indicates a road that refers to road with more than 8 lanes, “-ro” refers to one with 2 to 7 lanes and “-gil” indicates all the rest of roads.

2. Building Numbers: Odd vs. Even

Each building in Korea is numbered. From the beginning of a road(-daero, -ro, -gil), the number of a building will increase as the road approaches the end. One big tip is all buildings on the left side of the road receive odd numbers whereas buildings on the right get even numbers.

3. Distance Between Buildings

One easy way to estimate distance between buildings is simple subtraction. How far is between building #1 to #3? It’s about 20m.  For building #50 to #100? The distance is 500m. A digit difference between building number indicates 10 meter.
