Seung Youp Lee, Korea’s baseball legend become Daegu Ambassador



Seung Youp Lee, Korea’s baseball legend, was officially appointed as Daegu Ambassador today! He has made a number of significant records in the history of professional baseball inside and outside Korea. Before and After his retirement in 2017, Seung Youp Lee has been contributed to Daegu community in numerous ways.

Former batter in Daegu Samsung Lions(’95-’03, ’11-’17)
KOB Records: 467 Home runs, 1,498 RBI, 464 Doubles, 2,156 Hits
The youngest professional baseball player in the world to hit 300 home runs at the age of 26
Gold medalist at Beijing Olympics

The ceremony took place at Gukchaebosang Memorial Park. His fans who were there to congratulate got to have his autograph signed for them.


Afterwards, he joined a Daegu Citizen Week event. At these red containers, which operates from today until Feb 28, you can donate your books, take a rest and learn about Daegu Citizen Week.
