2.28 Jungang Memorial Park 2.28 공원

You may have not heard the name of this park. However, I am pretty sure you've passed by 2.28 Jungang Memorial Park when you were out in downtown. It's located in the very heart of Dongseongro across from Novotel. It was built in 2003 to commemorate February 28 Demoratic Movement which sparked a series of significant demoratic movements. Feburary 28 became a national holiday in 2018.
Compared to the other parks, it is small but still offers plenty of trees, plants, flowers and benches to take a nice break.

Gyeongsanggamnyeong Park 경상감영공원

A pretty daunting to pronounce, Gyeong sang gam nyeong Park was built in 1601 during the Joseon Dynasty. Here is where you can meet the old with the present: old trees, pavillion, Ojakgyo Bridge and more. This area is not as crowded as the typical Dongseongro area near Daegu Department Store. More older crowd loves hanging out in this area with all trendy cafes and restaurants recently open and also old restaurants famous among locals. You will easily find seniors chatting in the parks as well.
